Mesozoic 2 "Little Prince"

I was surprised on the day this piece was finished, considering in it's infancy it was fused from 2 other pieces, then grew from there. What makes me nervous, upon reflection of this process, is it's unpredictability.  Some of the stronger points of the piece came to be because I just found other scraps of paper from the floor.  Also there's a little homage (or as called by fine artists appropriation) from a famous graphic novel.  Off the subject a bit I have been exploring and researching contemporary drawing as well as it's development.  So I'm kinda excited about that.  Anyway enjoy!

Sometimes I just need to decompress. The work then usually becomes very raw and immediate, and not complex.  I suppose it's only natural anyone can get exhausted with working on a single piece of art for an extended time.

"The Dog"

This piece actually took me awhile to make.  I used a variety of found materials mixing them with drawing.  This piece is life size.  Once it's out of my studio I don't know where I'm gonna put it.  On another note, I have been reflecting on my experience at the thrift store, most people buy things (shoes, tee shirts, etc) and they give those things another life, while in my case when they fall into my hands they get de-assembled and go thru a metamorphosis- finding a new purpose in my work thru their destruction.
